U.S. Department of Treasury harassing FilmMaker/Documentist Michael Moore

Found off AOL news:

LOS ANGELES (May 10) — Academy Award-winning filmmaker Michael Moore is under investigation by the U.S. Treasury Department for taking ailing Sept. 11 rescue workers to Cuba for a segment in his upcoming health-care documentary “Sicko,” The Associated Press has learned.

Looking over the whole story and what was found on Moore’s site (He hasn’t officially commented) I look over it all and see he was just making a political statement, I guess, for his upcoming film, “Sicko” which will be vital and needed look at our health-care industry here in the States.

From looking things over, it doesn’t seem to be abuse on part of the Government; there is an embargo on Cuba, and yeah, it’s breaking the law for going over there as a U.S. Citizen without written consent or what have you. He could still sneak by it as a reporter and overall the U.S. will really not do anything but a slap on the wrist. On top of that, what the hell Mr.Moore, you didn’t know?

Of course he was smart enough to run with the report even putting up the whole hding of the film, like it was Anne Frank or something:

After receiving the letter, Moore arranged to place a copy of the film in a “safe house” outside the country to protect it from government interference, said the person working on the release of the film.

Hey I don’t blame him! He Should! But he should also not try to hype shit as much as the media hypes shit either!

Michael Moore caught on the street

Ok so with this in mind, you should Mr.Moore is NOT being persecuted and sought after or anything, he simply did a wrong thing and traveled somewhere he wasn’t supposed without the appropriate paper and such. I think many times the punishment comes out to be a small to big fine, but he has no worries and all that.

My one problem with this whole ordeal, is not the picking on Michael Moore, or his movie, or the U.S. Department of Treasury; It’s why did he go there of all places? I know he’s trying to show us, and it’s a valid point, the ordeal that people have with Health in this country and also the overall disgusting and repugnant treatment of people, especially those who have given so much, like these 9/11 workers.

But why CUBA? Why there? With the amount of strife and heart break that country has had, that has been passed along to it’s people, through the communist dictatorship of Fidel Castro, and his horrible crimes against humanity, why go there to validate a point on health-care, IN COMPARISON, to here in the U.S? What are you trying to saw Mr. Moore?

This smells of bullshit to a certain degree, because by the wayside, it is the classic ridiculousness of Americans in this country to understand a country solely by reading USA Today and think things are right there. Mr. Moore is probably treated like any and many Americans of non-Hispanic descent, as honored guest with all and every Amenity in hand for themselves. They come out with the confused notion of how “nice” life is there, when it is all a horrid lie perpetuated by the government and that the real pain that is happening is hidden. Even-though their are regular reports of human rights violations, and a large exile community who had their lives stolen away their, people like Mr. Moore tends to ignore those facts, and are romanced by the idea of some little tropical isle with painted on notion of Totalarism disguised as Socialist ideals and dreams.

So coming in June, I’ll have to ask myself, besides all the great facts that are happening in this film (most likely) that when Cuba comes out on screen, “What are you proving with this, Mr. Moore?”

And I would like a real answer.

(BTW, I love his work, and find that he has a lot of good things to say, I don’t agree with all of it, but still he’s awesome, so if you think I’m being some kind of dick STFU)
