So If…

So if after this whole disaster/tragedy of the bridge in Minneapolis seemingly pit a spotlight on how “bad” the roadways MAY BE in this country, where are Mass Transit pushers? If the argument has been that bullet trains and Amtrak renewal are infeasible because of the countries huge investment in the past with them, why aren’t we seeing loads of pro transit people out and about pushing for it.
I mean this, coupled with the already staggering problem about the fuel prices and environmental issues should be enough for the push to start making initiatives for mass transit systems in this country.
Ah, it’s like Bruce Mau said ” Democracy is not about Mediocrity, or the masses, it’s about the leadership in charge” (I’m paraphrasing here)
