Ah another week another day another hour another reminder that the world is ending. I don’t know about you but that just a cocktease the apocalypse right? I mean every culture has their version of the end of the world, the end times, the revelation, ragnarok, yadda , yadda, yadda, but in the end it’s all gonna keep going right? RIGHT?!?
Hello from the always sunny always shady Magic city. This week has been good productive but also painful to the ass region. Let me tell you:
STUDIO MOVE IT DONE! This was a pain in the ass and had to do some major choices, throwing out stuff and giving shit away. I will say this: I DO NOT NEED ANY NEW ART SUPPLIES. Sweet baby Jesus I have a bunch of crap. I need to be killing this more than anything! Anyway here are some highlights and what I’m trying to do.

I have kept writing, hitting up here and there on different projects. So far I have 3 scripts ready to go, plotted and loose enough to start getting some pages laid out. Mostly FERRO OCELOT which I’ve written about before and getting some legs on that project while also getting more MEATHOOK stories in order too. For FERRO it’s about getting the look down like so:

Also worked on SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DEMONS, which will be a novella for sure. I think it’s time to stretch and go for a more substantial book but sterilized in the FWACATA ANTHOLOGY. This… this will be interesting.
Had to make up for last week and my stomach spasm bullshit and made two episode and MM here. I’ve been diligent about the podcast and getting it out, but May wrap up for a bit in June when I make a big move. Figuring that out later.

Been watching GATE recently on HULU, and first, after hourlong down ATTACK ON TITAN and the first season of FARGO, it’s a great palate cleanser. Don’t get me wrong I enjoyed both shows but GATE really brought that sense of wonder back for me and the fun “what if” of the show. SO WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
A gate appears in Tokyo’s Ginza district sometime in the 21st century. From the gate pours out monsters, knights from middle-age Europe, and other fantasy-like beings, and they kill many of the citizens of Tokyo. This event is known as the Ginza Incident. The government sends a small group of soldiers from the Japanese Self-Defense Forces to the alternate world beyond the gate. Led by otaku soldier Yōji, they find that the villages in the world are being attacked by a dragon. An elf girl who is a survivor from the dragon’s rampage joins the group in their travels across the dangerous new world.
It goes on from there but had this sort of cool way of brining it all together and treating the ideas behind it like say what and RPG do to a Dragon, or the effect of a bullet on medieval armor, or a demigod versus special forces, and tells a good story. It’s trite at times but the charm doesn’t try to become something more which helps the character interactions and plot move better.
Oh and titties or at least the promise of titties. So yay.
The Garden is bearing fruit… and vegetables…and more!
Still have lots to do to put away, sell, throw away, and manage it back to the drawing board even if it is a nice new one! But I’m amazed at how attached to certain things I am.
When I was a kid my Mom and Brother laughed once because it was saving these little tickets. Remember McDonald’s had that Olympic game back in the day? If so and so gets a gold medal you get a free cheese burger? Well I saved those tickets even the one that lost. My sweet mother making sure I don’t become some fucking hoarder, ask why and I said, with all the sincerity a 6 year sold could muster, that they were “Mementos”
They laughed their asses off.
But I really do FEEL attached. Sure it’s sentimentality but it’s also like totems and reminders of things stuff to peer at, bring you up on the down days and inspire on the good. I like my stuff!
And so… I’M NOT HOARDING!
…leave my stuff alone.
So yeah that’s the week. Remember to get your shit done, mark it done, cross it off, check mark, whatever you need to do. But then remember to take off yourself and make sure to hug someone, get a hug, and laugh. Those are chores we have to do to maintain ourselves. The world is ending all the time, right? Hold on tight.
