From Instagram: Behind the scenes on MERGE “MERGE” is a Comic I’ve worked on for quite a bit at least two or so years. It’s mostly the idea of relationships and the power behind them and actually trying to ingratiate that kind of power into an actual story. In the beginning or opening scene we see a very bad break up between two people I’m still deciding how those people are who those people are but in the middle of that out of space out of time suddenly out of nowhere they get hit by a massive wave of energy. When they wake up they find that they have been in a coma for a long time and that recently a hero had emerged and disappeared and that time and after a strange amount of investigating on both their ends with awkwardness from friends and stuff not knowing about the break up right before the accident they did find that they have made a being from there Morose love. This ends up being merge where the main character do you see up there the sketch that they’re talking about the ability of love of creating a hero of some sort and now that these two people know that, when they’re together and when they feel the most, Merge comes alive and comes to help people and what did they decide to do about that. Now of course anybody looking at this from the outside in, would obviously say “well this is something about love and relationships and might be a little trite” for them but what I want to explore is what if that is the human experience that that’s what makes us different. When we look at Sci-fi we see in alien race or even in a fantasy being like Fantasy elves and or Star Trek Klingons or any other kind of weird race they have some virtue over us either there faster, they’re stronge, they’re smarter, they outlive us something and I always figure if we pulled into reverse where do humans excel and what if in this universe in this whole world that we live in what if it’s humans ability to feel and feel so much which makes us fallible and laughable, hypocritical and heroic, our greatest weakness and greatest strength, is what sets us apart?
